1.  What is the first step to finding a puppy?

We strongly encourage you to call, email, or text with questions.  Sires, Dams, and puppies have different temperaments and

other characteristics.  We want to make sure you get exactly what you are looking for.

2.   What are puppies exposed to in the first 8 weeks of life?

Our puppies are born and raised in our home for the first 8 weeks.  They are socialized and given lots of love and attention.  They

are given lots of play time and interaction time with us.  We always have happy and healthy puppies.

3.   With so many options and price points, why are our puppies a great choice?

You can find lab puppies at lots of different places for just a few hundred dollars.  You can also find them for several thousand

dollars.  Our puppies hail from national and field champion pedigrees, the highest achievements possible.  They are matched

for temperament and trainability, and our reviews and testimonials prove it.  Lesser pedigrees frequently go for more.  We are

proud to place our puppies at great homes, with a combination of pedigree and price that is hard to beat.   If you'd like

references, we're glad to provide them.

4.   How much is the adoption fee?

Please reach out to us about a specific litter.

5.   How much is the deposit?

The deposit is $300.  The deposit saves your place in the picking process, and the picks are in order of deposit.  The remaining

balance is due at the time of puppy pick up.  We typically take 8 deposits for each litter pre-whelping.  If your desired

combination of color/gender is not available, you will have the option of moving your deposit to the next litter or receiving

      a refund.

6.   Are deposits refundable?

If your desired combination of color/gender does not arrive at whelping, you will have the option of moving your deposit to the         next litter or receiving a refund.  This is the only time refunds are considered.

7.   How does puppy selection work?

Early deposits stand the best chance of getting the desired combination of gender and color.  Videos and pictures will be taken        of the litter to assist selection.  At eight weeks, the first pick for each color and gender will arrive first and we work with the

other picks to arrive, for example, later that day or the next day.

8.   Is the puppy examine by a vet?  Are they vaccinated?

Puppies are absolutely examined by a vet.  This is usually at around 6 weeks.  Puppies are wormed at 2, 4, and 6 weeks and at

the vet visit receive their first vaccination.  Shots are usually a 3 or 4 shot sequence three weeks apart.  Once the first shot

is given by our vet, a record is provided to you and your vet to continue the sequence at weeks 9, 12, and 15.  This completes the

parvo, rabies, etc. sequence until they are a year old.

9.   Is there a health guarantee?

Absolutely.  We are proud of and confident in the pedigrees, health, and quality of our animals and the environment in which

      they live.

      Health Guarantee

  •  The health of the puppy is guaranteed for 7 days from the date of pick up.   If something happens healthwise to the puppy within the first 7 days up to the cost of the puppy.

  • The puppy is guaranteed for 28 months from time of birth for any genetic Hip Dysplasia.  Please see below for more info.

  • A record of vaccinations will accompany each puppy.  It is the buyer’s responsibility to have the puppy examined and all necessary vaccinations administered and started by a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of delivery date of the puppy.

       Hip Guarantee

If hips are found to be dysplasia, Three Notch Retrievers will replace your puppy with a puppy of equal or greater  breeding.  All         problems must be documented by your veterinarian and confirmed by our veterinarian, and all  registration  papers returned             before a replacement puppy will be provided.  This guarantee applies to congenital,  hereditary defects.  Injury to the dog voids         this warranty.  The following conditions must be met:

  • Puppy has been registered with AKC by person who originally purchased the puppy.

  • A copy of findings from OFA showing a certification of dysplastic must be sent to us for our records.

  • The dog must not have been bred.

  • A letter from your veterinarian identifying the microchip of the dog

  • Dog’s hips are x-rayed after reaching the age of 2 years and before the age of 28 months.

  • Microchip number must appear on all required documents.

Shipping and Pick Up

We prefer the puppies to be picked up in person at 8 weeks of age.  If you are driving a long distance and are OK with choosing

your puppy by video or livestream, it is common for us to meet you somewhere to save a couple of hours of driving time.  For example, we have met people coming from Jacksonville in Tallahassee; have met people from from Atlanta in Cuthbert, GA; have met people coming from north Alabama in Dothan, AL.  In each case, we saved the family about two hours of driving time.
