Why are our labs special?

Pedigrees!

You are going to have a hard time finding national level pedigrees for what our adoption fee is.  There are many very good breeders in Georgia and the surrounding states.  In addition to breeding quality labs, they compete regularly in AKC events.  We just love labs and have accumulated some great pedigrees.  We want to share them with great homes.  You will want the champions to be represented in the first three generations of the pedigree.  Watch for "champion pedigrees" that are 5-6 generations ago.  Compare our pedigrees to anyone's, and you'll see how special they are.  Please check the current/upcoming litter page!  Look for:

NFC - National Field Champion

NAFC - National Amateur Field Champion

CFC/CNFC/CNAFC - Canada's National Champions

FC - Field Champion (only 1% of labs achieve this status)

GRHRCH - Grand Hunting Retriever Champion

MH - Master Hunter - very strong!

Others: JH, QAA, HRCH - all good!

It is estimated that less than 1% of all labs have achieved either Field Champion (FC) or Amateur Field Champion (AFC) titles. Only 1 National Field Champion (NFC) and only 1 National Amateur Field Champion (NAFC) is awarded each year.

Field Trial Titles

**NFC = National Field Champion

Every year there is a National Championship and the dog that wins is the National Field Champion for that year. Only one is awarded each year.  This is the pinnacle!

**NAFC = National Amateur Field Champion

Same as an NFC except the dog is handled by an amateur handler. Again, only one is awarded each year.  This is also the pinnacle!

**CNFC – Canadian National Field Champion

Again, same as an NFC or NAFC and only one is awarded each year.

***HOF (Hall of Fame)

 Self-explanatory - very prestigious.  There are 11 Hall of Famers in our pedigrees.

**GRHRCH – Grand Hunter Retrieving Champion

 This is the highest title awarded by the UKC.  Bennett has three of these in her pedigree along with numerous Master Hunters, Field Champions, and Amateur Field  Champions.

FC = Field Champion

This title indicates a dog has met the qualifications (wins and number of points) to be awarded a title for its performance in the field. This is a competitive title and the dog earns the title competing against other dogs.  Less than 1% of all labs reach this level.  The very best Field Champions then compete for NFC and NAFC.

AFC = Amateur Field Champion

This title is the same as an FC except the dog is handled in competition by an amateur handler.

CFC = Canadian Field Champion

Title earned competing in field trials in Canada.

Hunt Test Titles

MH (Master Hunter), SH (Senior Hunter), and JH (Junior Hunter). These are AKC titles awarded to dogs who pass a series of hunt tests. These tests are non-competitive and dogs are judged based on a standard set by AKC. Obviously, a Master Hunter test is much more difficult than a Junior Hunter tests. These titles appear after a dog’s name on the pedigree.
